Which Games Are Eligible?

With spawnd we’re focused on deep, premium gaming experiences.

spawnd is all about a curated experience -> less quantity, more quality. We're talking games that players buy and invest their time in, not just quick distractions or shovelware. 😉

What we are looking for:

  • Premium PC games that target Steam and/or Epic Games Store;
  • Demos that are engaging, immersive, fun, and playable with keyboard/mouse or gamepad;
  • Titles in core PC genres, such as narrative-driven, action, strategy, or competitive multiplayer experiences, for example.
  • Games designed for a large screen / desktop experience (also including VR).

What we are not looking for:

  • Free-to-play games (even if it has a demo);
  • Mobile-first games or hyper-casual titles (ie. idle clickers);
  • Gambling, casino, skill-based money games, or adult content.

Recommended & Disallowed Practices

✅ Recommended Practices

  • Feel free to add wishlist call-to-actions and links toward your Steam page within the demo build as well (just make sure to include the spawnd UTMs to allow for precise tracking (learn more about this here);
  • We recommend using progressive loading strategies to reduce startup time (i.e. Addressables in Unity games);
  • If applicable, consider offering some kind of game save transfer solutions to your players (demo → full game).

You may freely link to your game's Steam page, social media, and/or studio/publisher website! (just be mindful of interfering with the users experience ;))

Good practice example with links to Steam page and social media platforms right on the title screen.

Disallowed Practices

  • Ads (banners or videos) or monetization overlays of any kind;
  • Sign-in walls, ad-walls or paywalls*;
  • Links to unrelated games or third-party platforms;
  • External branding that clashes with spawnd's clean interface.
🚧

For demos that require sign-in to work (such as multiplayer games) and other potential exceptions requests, we ask you to contact the spawnd team.

Ad walls or any kind of ad-based incentives are not allowed in any form.

⚠️ Allowed, but within constraints

  • You may offer users the option to provide their e-mail (ie. for a newsletter), as long as it is entirely optional and unintrusive.
  • A sign-in/sign-up optiona can also be included, as long as its not required to play the demo

Localization

  • spawnd has user interface already localized to 5 different languages, increasing potential audiences far beyond the Latam market. Read more in Language Support & Localization.
  • While spawnd was launched initially to a mostly regional audience in LATAM, there are no limitations as to where in the world users might share and launch your demo (the more the merrier!). It is for this reason that we ask that all games come localized to the English language by default to be eligible.
  • Brazilian Portuguese and LATAM Spanish localizations are very welcome and may increase engagement with Nuuvem's regional audience, however they are not mandatory.
    • If possible, consider at least adding Brazilian Portuguese subtitles in case full localization is not possible at the moment.
  • Any additional supported languages are always welcome, but not mandatory.
